Christmas Celebration at the Villa

Have you purchased your Van Norby "Eminent Domain" print raffle ticket yet?  Les has!  Don't worry if you haven't done so yet, you still can.  St. Luke's Community Foundation board members are selling tickets, or you can call the Foundation Office at (701) 965-6384 and we can make sure to get one to you.  Raffle tickets are $20 with the winner being announced at the Villa Christmas Event.  There will also be other Van Norby paintings on display for all to enjoy.

Other events at the Villa include the raffling off of a crocheted blanket (queen size) for the Nursing Department's IV Fluid Warmer.  Tickets are $5 (for more information call the Erin at the Foundation Office).  Also, there will be a giveaway for the employees who have walked the most during our 1-2-3-4 Walk competition at the hospital.

More information on the event to follow.

Hospital Construction Update 12/03/2010

With the winter weather going on outside it's been tough working conditions, but that hasn't stopped the construction from progressing forward.  They've been busy remodeling the inside as well as adding on to the outside.  Staff have been moving offices and even the nursing station has seen some changes (only half of it is there)!  Here's how the progress has been moving:

Hospital Construction Update: 11/16/10

It's a race against weather as the construction workers work on enclosing the clinic before the weather really starts to act up.  With the 4-inch cement floor poured for the main floor of the clinic, they can now start working on putting up the outside walls of the clinic.  They are also working on moving forward on the inside of the hospital. Take a look:

Hospital Construction Update 11/11/10

First of all in honor of Veterans Day, thank you to all the veterans who have served our country proudly.  Secondly, it's another update from the construction zone.  While snow and wind have been coming in on and off, workers are still hard at work to complete the clinic.  Beams have been put in for the ceiling and support of the clinic basement while other workers have been working on gutting the inside of the lobby/office area in the hospital.  Here are some pictures for you.

Nothern Lights Villa Construction Update 11/08/10

The Northern Lights Villa Expansion Project is heading strong as they have poured the floor and set the walls.  Workers have been working hard to make sure the cement gets poured before it gets too cold for the cement to set.

Photos from the Pancake Feed

The St. Luke's Hospital and Clinics Pancake Feed went off without a glitch raising money for Hospital debt reduction.  Along with the pancakes, eggs, sausage, and ham attendees were also able to catch a glimpse of the construction updates, purchase memorial trees that will be placed on the hospital grounds as well as raffle tickets for a breathtaking piece of art done by Van Norby.  It was a lot of work when the rushes came, but everyone worked very hard to make sure the needs of our friends eating were met.  Thank you to Ekness Supervalu for donating the food, hospital workers and committee members that worked (especially Steve Joraanstad for all he did to organize and prepare), and all the people who came out to support the hospital.

Assisted Living Now Under Way

With all of the construction going on at the hospital we thought it would only be natural to add some more.  Northern Lights Villa has construction going on for the addition of 6 more 2-bedroom units.

Hospital Construction Update 10/28/10

The hospital construction has been moving along swiftly and a little ahead of what was anticipated, which is a good thing with the weather moving like it is!

Hospital Construction Update 10/8/10

There have been many developments in the last week on the hospital project.  Most recently has been the moving of the business office from the main lobby into the acute care wing.  When coming to the hospital make sure to use the acute care door as the main entrance. Please do not try to walk through the construction to the regular main entrance, it is no longer being used due to construction.  There is a sign on the acute care door to show it as the temporary main entrance for patients.

Here are our fearless leaders Keith and Les getting ready to go check the construction progress.  In order to be in the construction zone you must always be wearing a hardhat and a vest.

This is of when the construction crew tore down the hallway that existed as a hallway from the hospital to the previous hospital when the last expansion was done in 1964.

Smoothing out the sidewalk that was put in place to make the new temporary entrance to the hospital handicap accessible.

Measuring out in the clinic basement as they prepare for cement pouring, and making sure the hole that was dug for the elevator is at the correct height.

The walls to the basement of the clinic have been put up and have defined the space more clearly.  The basement of the clinic is the hole that was being dug on the south side of the hospital near the old main entrance.

Keep checking back for more updates!
